Gordon Stewart Roy was born in Scotland in 1953. He was raised in the village of Long Branch in west Toronto and continues to make his home and studio by the shores of Lake Ontario.

Growing up around nature, Gordon was inspired to take up art at an early age. Self taught, Gordon has honed his talents to great heights and working in many mediums, has had a successful career in the arts.

Teaching art has become a recent passion for Gordon and his one-on-one relationship with his students comes through in their works.

Gordon's artistic creativity and versatility are always following new horizons from beautiful sculptures in stone and bronze to, most recently, working in the abstract, dealing with movement and colour. Gordon has been producing a stunning contemporary series of paintings in which most of the medium is reclaimed.
